# Serial Number Registration

The module **Serial Number** allows you to set up automatic rules for generating and controlling unique identifications in the system, applicable to products, batches, and other production entities.

These identifications ensure **traceability, standardization, and operational control**, allowing each produced or moved item to receive a structured code according to criteria defined by the company.

With this module, it is possible to:

* Create automatic numbering templates;
* Define custom code composition patterns;
* Generate serial numbers for **Products** or **Batches**;
* Configure automatic sequence resets;
* Define increment triggers for batches;
* Ensure uniqueness and traceability of records.

#### Module Objective

The module was developed to meet the needs of companies that require control over:

* Individual serial number per produced item;
* Production batches with automatic coding;
* Traceability by shift, operator, or order;
* Standardized identification for labels;
* Manufacturing history control.

## 1. Access to the module

To access:

**Main menu > Registrations > Serial Number**

<figure><img src="https://2582153898-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FwAMVKtJedtiJ4RrzXGfp%2Fuploads%2FheLVsZl5sArjowOSRhBa%2FIcone%20Serial%20number.png?alt=media&amp;token=47f4940d-993c-405b-9298-d7d739889e60" alt=""><figcaption><p>Serial Number icon</p></figcaption></figure>

When opening the screen, the registered templates will be displayed.

## 2. Screen structure

<figure><img src="https://2582153898-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FwAMVKtJedtiJ4RrzXGfp%2Fuploads%2FkFYEYLfNWGAbWQK5DOLn%2F1%20-%20Serial%20Number.png?alt=media&amp;token=e28ba76c-f87e-4362-9cf4-a45929bdbd29" alt=""><figcaption><p>Registration screen</p></figcaption></figure>

The screen consists of the following fields:

### 2.1. Template Number

Internal identification code of the created configuration.

Example:

`SN00012`

### 2.2. Description

Friendly name of the numbering rule.

Example:

`SERIAL - COUPLED SHAFT ASSEMBLY 30 mm`

### 2.3. Entity Type

Defines which type of record the numbering will be applied to.

Available options:

* **Product** → generates individual serial;
* **Batch** → generates batch identification.

### 2.4. Pattern

Field responsible for assembling the final code.

Allows combining dynamic variables and fixed text.

Example:

`{DATE}{PRODUCT_CODE}{PRODUCTION_ORDER}{SEQ:N}`

Possible result:

`20250718EIXO300012540001`

#### Variables available in the pattern

When clicking the side selector, the system provides tokens for automatic assembly.

<figure><img src="https://2582153898-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FwAMVKtJedtiJ4RrzXGfp%2Fuploads%2FmyxdL4zhX1oMMvaoUWo1%2F2%20-%20Serial%20Number.png?alt=media&amp;token=c301ad9b-45a1-4d6d-a509-66917b3ab857" alt=""><figcaption><p>Standard variables</p></figcaption></figure>

#### Sequence

`SEQ:N`

Automatic sequential number.

#### Date

* `DATE` → full date
* `YYYY` → full year
* `YY` → shortened year
* `MM` → month
* `DD` → day

#### Production data

* `PRODUCT_CODE`
* `PRODUCTION_ORDER`
* `SHIFT`
* `WORKCENTER`
* `EQUIPMENT`
* `LOT`

### 2.5. Sequence Length

Defines the minimum number of digits for the sequence.

Example:

Configured value: `3`

Generated sequence:

* 001
* 002
* 003

### 2.6. Reset Sequence

Defines when the sequential counter will be automatically reset.

<figure><img src="https://2582153898-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FwAMVKtJedtiJ4RrzXGfp%2Fuploads%2FTDP935enavw9jm2MgpDa%2F3%20-%20Serial%20Number.png?alt=media&amp;token=f0e81c88-a8e4-40de-b521-b6b692a6163a" alt=""><figcaption><p>Reset variables</p></figcaption></figure>

#### Options:

**Never**

Sequence runs continuously indefinitely.

Example:

0001 → 0002 → 0003

**Daily**

Resets every day.

Example:

18/07 = 001\
19/07 = 001

**Monthly**

Resets at the beginning of each month.

**Yearly**

Resets at the beginning of each year.

**Per Order**

Resets with each new production order.

Ideal for tracking production by PO.

### 2.7. Batch Increment Trigger

Available when the entity type is **Batch**.

Defines which events automatically generate a new batch.

<figure><img src="https://2582153898-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FwAMVKtJedtiJ4RrzXGfp%2Fuploads%2FIp2K2Iy72gJGYFHkGEk4%2F2%20-%20Lote.png?alt=media&amp;token=e7517083-753d-406e-b783-326a667e540c" alt=""><figcaption><p>Batch increments</p></figcaption></figure>

#### Common options:

* Shift
* Operator
* Day
* Production Report

#### Practical example

Configuration:

* Trigger: Shift + Day

Result:

Shift change or day change automatically generates a new batch.

### 2.8. Enabled

Key that enables or disables the configuration.

* **On:** template available for use;
* **Off:** template ignored by the system.

## 3. Recommended best practices

#### Use clear descriptions

Makes future maintenance easier.

Example:

`SERIAL MOTOR LINE A`

#### Avoid excessively long patterns

Large codes make reading labels harder.

#### Define a consistent reset

* Unit product: Never
* Daily batch: Daily
* Production by PO: Per Order

#### Standardize across manufacturing units

Maintains corporate consistency.

## 4. Operational benefits

With the Serial Number module, your company gets:

* Full traceability;
* Automatic identification;
* Reduction of manual errors;
* Industrial standardization;
* Integration with labels and readers;
* Control by batch or item.
